Being a global corporation Philips has Hungarian subsidiaries as well, for sales, distribution, installation, maintenance, support, etc. in the respective product category or business. Philips also has production facilities in the country. At the production site in Tamási Philips produces energy efficient lighting solutions. The factory became the property of Philips in 2007, however the history of the plant dates back to the 1950’s. The production site is a registered legal entity as Philips IPSC Tamási Kft. since 2010.
Philips recently finished a successful NPD academia-industry project with bachelor IDE students in the field of LED lighting.

Supporting industrial partner – Maform
Maform Kft. is a design studio founded by two former BME IDE students. They have expertise in the field of product design and consulting, design studies and research, and interaction and UI/UX design. They are active in the field of IoT devices, industrial electrical equipment, transportation, and medical / veterinary equipment. Maform works for technology start-ups, engineering offices, production companies, national and international corporations and educational institutes, and cooperates with engineering and architecture offices, production companies, workshops, creative agencies, freelancer and individual creative professionals and education institutes. The project scope for Maform is ideally high value added, applying scientific breakthroughs, applying high level engineering, also with redefining interaction. Maform has multiple points of connection to BME: the founders and majority of staff used to be BME IDE students, they run internship programs for design students, and they are hosts of Erasmus + activities. The motto of Maform is “Design Through Understanding”.
Supporting industrial partner – Indagroup
Indagroup Kft. is a product and interior design studio, it was founded by József Pozsonyi, who is the owner and CEO. The studio offers a variety of services to the customers, they run the projects from the very first ideas to the realization. Although the studio with the new brand is only a few years old, the key staff members have 30 years of designer experience which is continuously enriched with the application of the latest developments, e.g. 3D printing in product design and realization. The fields of activities cover, but not limited to: interior design, industrial design, 3D printing, furniture reselling, project management. Company has a special interest in innovative materials and applications, and also in lighting design. Indagroup, and its predecessor Desidea is a partner of BME industrial design engineering programme for more than a decade; common final and diploma projects, company internships, design contests, and the National Scientific Student Conference.
